Metal Female Voices:
It’s really an honor to be talking to you.
Robyn Christine:
Thank you!! I’m so happy you reached out to me!
Metal Female Voice:
How would you describe your music in your own words?
Robyn Christine:
Rock opera: Halestorm meets Muse.
Metal Female Voice:
Do you have a favorite singer which could influence in your music?
Robyn Christine:
My favorite singer is Lzzy Hale, lead singer for Halestorm. I absolutely love her and just recently wrote a blog about her on my website. She’s inspired me to try new things vocally and push my limits.
As for influences, I am a huge fan of Pat Benatar and Heart! They are the reason I want to be a rock star! They are the perfect combination of femininity and badass.
Metal Female Voice:
Which musical instruments do you like playing?
Robyn Christine:
I love singing, so if you count the microphone being an instrument, that’s my number one choice! Chris Mick, our lead guitarist, is teaching me guitar so that would be my very close second!
Metal Female Voice:
Do you have plans to create a new album and tour in Europe?
Robyn Christine:
Oh yes! We’re currently writing music for our next album and we’ve been in contact with Patrick Phillips, our engineer at Real World Studios in England, about starting pre-production soon.
Metal Female Voice:
Robyn Christine your voice is brilliant. Do you use vocal exercises to ensure that your voice is in adequate shape?
Robyn Christine:
THANK YOU!! What a sweet thing to say!!
I regularly work with Laura Mendoza, my vocal coach, who is just amazing. We’ve been focusing on vocal techniques to help me warm-up for live performances as we get ready for our next live event.
Metal Female Voice:
I think a lot girls are interested in your style clothes. Do you have your own style for dressing or are do you use a favorite brand?
Robyn Christine:
Well, I’m actually still working on my clothing! While the outfits I have now have that cool, Victorian feel to them, I’m moving toward Steampunk. The cool thing with Steampunk is the fact that it’s mostly DIY (Do It Yourself) projects! I find individual pieces that I like, that have the feel of what I’m going for, and I put them together to create the style.
Metal Female Voice:
Do you often find time to see live performances from other bands?
Robyn Christine:
I love to attend other band’s events! It’s great to see and meet other artists and our conversations are always exciting! I have so much to learn, so it’s great to get others’ perspective.
Metal Female Voice:
Which country do you like?
Robyn Christine:
I absolutely love England!! I cannot wait to go back!
Metal Female Voice:
Which cuisine do you like?
Robyn Christine:
I love love, love pasta!!! And now I love fish thanks to Chef Jerome, my favorite French chef at Real World Studios.
Metal Female Voice:
Is it possible to see you somewhere in the city?
Robyn Christine:
I really enjoy getting all dolled up to go dancing!! If I’m not performing, of course, because that’s way more fun!
Metal Female Voice:
What is your favorite quote of life?
Robyn Christine:
“Far better is to DARE mighty things, to win GLORIOUS triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer too much because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat!” – Theodore Roosevelt
Metal Female Voice:
And your wish for fans?
Robyn Christine:
It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be a singer and be a part of a group who loves to do what I do! When I joined Null Paradox, my life dramatically changed in the best way possible.
My advice to my fans: if you have a dream and you want to do something, DO IT!!! Don’t let anyone bring you down, or tell you it’s impossible. There will always be those who are jealous, insecure, and judgmental. Feel sorry for them and continue on with your dreams. You, and those that support you, should be the loudest voice(s) you hear!!
Metal Female Voice:
Thank you so very much for interview and that chance!
Robyn Christine Rocks!
